Welcome to Hardeman Candle Co.!

Hello and welcome to Hardeman Candle Co.! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Kendall and, together with my husband, we started Hardeman Candle Co. in March of 2020.

How did Hardeman Candle Co. get started?

My husband and I recently renovated an 80 year old farmhouse in our small town of Sealy, TX. We invited some family over for dinner so of course I had a candle burning to make our home feel more cozy. Within minutes of my 8 year old nephew (who has lots of allergies) walking in the door, his face had blotchy red spots, his eyes were watery, and his nose started running.

My first thought was that our house was causing his allergic reaction. I thought maybe the cedar shiplap walls were triggering it which broke my heart because the last thing I wanted was for our family to be allergic to our house! 

Then I remembered that I had a candle burning. But it was a soy candle and those are supposed to be the cleanest kind so surely that's not what was causing his allergies to flare up, right? But my nephew's runny nose and watery eyes weren't going away so I blew out the candle and put it in another room away from everyone else. Almost as quickly as his allergies flared up, they were gone. 

I was shocked that what I thought was a clean, non-toxic candle would cause a reaction like that. I love burning candles throughout my house, but I love my family more. So that's when we set out to create one of the best candles for allergies.

What makes a Hardeman Candle so clean?

All of our candles are made from 100% all natural soy wax derived from soy beans grown right here in the USA. But what sets our candles apart is the not just the soy wax. It's the clean non-toxic fragrances. 

Have you ever heard of phthalates? Phthalates are sneaky chemicals found in lots of fragrance oils. It's also the chemical that triggers so many people to have allergic reactions around candles. We're proud to say that every candle that comes out of our studio is phthalate-free!

We made sure to make every element of our soy wax candles as clean as possible which meant that our wicks had to be clean as well. Only cotton wicks are used in our all natural soy candles which means there are no traces of lead, nickel, or any other toxins and irritants. Soy wax is proven to burn cleaner and long than other waxes. We do not dye our soy wax because it adds an unnecessary and unnatural component to the candle. So the creamy white color you see is all natural!

Our candles are hand-poured in small batches to ensure the cleanest candle-making process from start to finish.

All of our candles are handcrafted to be phthalate, dye, irritant, and toxin-free. So you can relax knowing that every candle you purchase is safe for your family and for your home. ♥️
